Hello everybody. Havent been around for a while.
I got a question: Taking in consideration that I can only take my kids to west end boulevard, Bonnabel boat launch or the Kenner pier, with all the rain lately, should I even try to go with them?? I mean it has been raining almost everyday down in Metairie and the New Orleans area. I'm a noob to when it comes down to fishing and the tides, and the winds and all the weather patterns.

Anyway, can somebody shine a light with this issue?? Thanks

Whatever you do,don't let the rain keep you from taking the kids fishing ! They will not care if its raining.......they won't care about the rain and most likely like watching it. Bet you will like it too! Bonnabel has a shelter and Kenner might also. Do watch out for the lightning. Most anything beats staying at home and watching TV !

Jachung.....almost forgot one thing.....make sure your children can swim, and you also is not a bad idea. It's not necessary they be great swimmers(but that's nice) but be unafraid of the water so if they fall in they can make it to shore or to something they can grab hold of.There are also life jackets available, mandatory if in a power boat.

thanks hookiemonster. My kids can swim but and so can I but since we are going to be fishing from the bank, I dont think swimming might be an issue. ( I hope lol). As far as fishing while raining, other than lightning, i thought fish didnt bite when it rains..
