Can somebody let me know if restaurants such as Outback Steakhouse that also serve alcohol drinks are considered part of the restricted establishments that a concealed carry permit holder cannot bring a weapon?

I interpreted the R.S. to mean establishments that serve alcohol as their primary business and must be 21 to enter such as bars.

Revision of Act 147 R.R, 14:95.5 allows for a person properly licesened with a concealed carry permit to carry a firearm in a restaurant, but DOES NOT exonerate them from the .05 alcohol limit, nor does it allow them to carry into an establishment that has properly post a NO CARRY icon or verbiage at the entrance.

Thanks Secret! Now if only movie theaters owner would come to their senses and allow concealed carry permit holders to bring their personal firearms to defend themselves and their families at the movies.

Some do but most have a posted icon prohibiting guns. If you've never seen it it's a hand gun inside a circle with the slanted line thru it. Most shopping mall as feel as the New Orleans convention center has it displayed. Many are not obvious but if you look you'll see them. There are store that I won't patronize because of this policy, and in some establishments I'll carry anyway even through it violates the terms of my permit. But as the saying goes, I'd rather be judged by twelve of my peers than carried by six of my friends. ARRIVE ALIVE!!!

Like John, I always try to obey the law, and it always does seem the best thing to do in most cases. If I am about to enter an establishment and they have that "no guns" sign, I simply take my business elsewhere. I happen to have a CC permit with enhanced tag, and I have never shot anyone, or had the urge to go on a shooting spree. I have had the experience of holding a weapon on 5 gentlemen who broke into my business one night, until the law came, but didn`t shoot any of them. They knew I would, and that seemed to be enough. I carry because I have "been there" and would probably not be here typing if I had not had the weapon on me that night. Businesses that will not allow law abiding people to carry on their property just don`t have a clue!
