We stayed in N.O. no power for 4 days. Only minor damage otherwise. BUT it was HOT!! So we're thinking generator.

We won't get the "whole house" kind, just a portable (maybe 2?). Wondering what kind, what to look for, etc. I saw a tri-fuel model on line (gasoline, propane, and nat gas) which looked like a good idea.

Any opinions from you all? Do you have 'em? What kind? pros and cons?

I have a couple of generators like you describe. I like to power my freezers, then a TV, then a room air conditioner.

The one I love the best for "miles per gallon" and being QUIET is a HONDA.......
