Statesmen wanted:
I borrowed part of this from another thread on another site. It seems to fit quite well.

“Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.”
///Thomas Jefferson///

In 2004, voters approved a constitutional amendment stating: "The freedom to hunt, fish, and trap wildlife, including all aquatic life, traditionally taken by hunters, trappers and anglers, is a valued natural heritage that shall be forever preserved for the people."

Louisiana’s citizens have a right to hunt and fish. Some folks would like to outlaw the way some of our citizens like to chase fish. They have no biologically based data for their cause, just a dislike for the method employed by another group. Some of them lie about their cause and spread disinformation. Some of them seem to be unprincipled and prone to using influence in the form of donations to get what they want. These same folks, who mostly claim to be in favor of smaller government and less government intervention don’t hesitate to use the government to their advantage when it suits them.

If someone doesn't like bow fishing that's fine. Why try to take it away from those who like it when there's no evidence of it harming the resource? Is it really OK to support such a prohibition simply because YOU don't like it? Don't like it? Don't do it. I don't like rap music or square dancing but I support the right of others to listen and dance. Of course, their right to listen ends at my ears when I'm in my home, on the porch or in my truck. I don't find where bow fishing for reds invades on MY rights, privacy, etc... Any help?
